Aronyak Ghosh wins ECA Rapid Rating Open 2025
IM Aronyak Ghosh, Vedant Garg, Shaurya Chaudhary and Sparsh Yadav scored 8/9 each at ECA Rapid Rating Open 2025. Aronyak won the tournament due to better tie-break scores. The remaining three were placed second to fourth respectively. Only Aronyak and Vedant remained undefeated among them. The total prize fund was ₹750000. The top three prizes were ₹50000, ₹40000 and ₹30000 along with a trophy each. The two-day nine round Rapid Rating Open tournament was organized by Eminent Chess Academy at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on 26th and 27th April 2025. Four players - IM Aronyak Ghosh, Garv Rai, Vedant Garg and FM Ojasva Singh were the leaders 6.5/8, heading into the final round. Aronyak defeated Garv to become the champion. Vedant won against Ojasva to secure second place. Shaurya Chaudhary scored a full point versus WCM Anishka Vikram to finish third. The tournament was powered by Cyboard School and supported by Kaabil Kids.
A total of 386 players including two IMs took part from various parts of India. The two-day nine round Rapid Rating Open tournament was organized by Eminent Chess Academy at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on 26th and 27th April 2025. The time control of the event was 25 minutes + 5 seconds increment per move.
