Pavel Mencik and Marek Krasa dominate Prague International Chess Festival 2025 L Bughouse Blitz Open
Pavel Mencik (CZE) and Marek Krasa (CZE) scored 26.5/28 to win Prague International Chess Festival 2025 L Bughouse Blitz Open. They finished a whopping five points ahead of the runner-up. The Czech team of Zednicek-Broz secured second place scoring 21.5/28. The second runner-up was the Polish team two kids - Smolinski-Korszanski. They scored 19.5/28. The top three prizes were CZK 1000, 600 and 400 each. This was the last event of this year's festival. The eighth edition of the festival will take place from 24th February to 6th March 2026. Top two seeds interchange their places
The Bughouse was the last side event of Prague International Chess Festival 2025. Everyone who has played bughouse at least once in their life knows how fun it is. This tournament obviously echoed that sentiment. It was won by Pavel Mencik and Marek Krasa, the Czech duo. A total of eight pairs which means 16 players including an IM took part from five countries across the world. The one-day seven round (Best of four matches) L Bughouse Blitz Open tournament was organized by Novy Bor Chess Club at Don Giovanni Hotel in Prague, Czechia on 6th March 2025. The time control of the event was 2 minutes + 2 seconds increment from move no.1.
